About Courtney
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Courtney has had a love for creating her entire life. She began creating short stories and poems as a way of expressing herself to the world around her in the 3rd grade. She added creating visually in 2016. She believes that art can be found in everything around us. Be it through words or on canvas, art is the key to her most authentic self.
Courtney graduated from University of Houston Downtown with a BBA in Accounting and received her Master's Degree in Public Accounting from Strayer University. Though she has always written and shared her poetry, she had yet to share any of her visual art. It wasn't until 2016 that someone stumbled upon some of her work and questioned why she didn't show it to the world. From that question, she found another way to communicate with the world. She began a serious pursuit of visual arts as a means of therapy and a human connection was ignited. Since that time, she has curated four art exhibitions, been a featured artist in various events, created murals throughout Houston and in various community projects.

About Sean
A Blessing in Every Session
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I came to know poetry at the age of six when my mother read to me from Nikki Giovanni's "Cotton Candy on a Rainy Day." From then on I developed an insatiable love for the written and spoken word.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Houston where I majored in Education and minored in Art and English. After graduation, I performed spoken word throughout the country as well as starred in several local plays before continuing on to receive my Masters in Literacy from Walden University.
Though I have always been a serious writer, my interest in visual arts began in 2012 when a visitor to my home begged purchase two of my "dabbings" from the wall. Since that time I have been a featured live painter, exhibition artist, and vendor at The Writer's Block, Black Girl Excellence, Domestic Violence Seminars, Midtown Arts center, Culture Vulture Magazine, Galas and a host of other events.
Additionally, I am a K-8 Texas Certified Teacher who has been in education for over 16 years and during my time, I have taught a variety of subjects to a wide array of learners. Though I currently teach art, the one thing that has remained a constant in my career is my love for teaching literacy. Literacy is fundamental in understanding all subjects as well as being the key to understanding and self expression.
I believe in placing God above all. My favorite motto is "Don't let your loyalty become your slavery. If they don't appreciate what you bring to the table... let them eat alone."

Get to Know Cy'On
The Cy'On Collection is comprised of two Houston artists, Courtney Moore(Cy) and Sean Johnson('On). They met on the Houston Poetry scene in the early 2000's and reconnected in 2015. Their love to travel and create helped them form a bond of trust and mutual respect .
The duo decided to combine their individual talents in 2018, when they began creating art together. Their goal was to be the opportunity in the community for others that they looked for themselves. Their motto is "Two light bulbs make a room shine brighter!"
Cy'On curated their first art exhibit in December 2018. The success of that show lead them to curating three additional exhibits featuring other local artists and vendors.
